The one year anniversary of my father’s passing was last month, and this month holds his birthday.

They say it gets easier with time. No one gives you a timeline though. How much time has to pass before it starts to get easier? How do you know it’s getting easier?

I tried to read a book on grieving. It didn’t pertain to me. It was aimed at the loss of people directly in your life, such as a spouse or child. It was advice on how to create a new normal for yourself.

I need a book on how to recover from a loss of someone that was trying to be better in their last years of life. How to recover from all the what ifs that go through your head.

I’m still waiting for it to get easier.
